Marco Anelli is documenting the viewer participants for The Artist Is Present, the Marina Abramovic retrospective at MoMA. Visitors may sit silently with the artist for as long as they wish. As a series, the photographs are extraordinary. Interview with Marina Abramovic about the exhibition. Web documentary by Howard Silver. Inside/Out: The artist envisions this particular work within minimalist parameters. She has described The Artist Is Present as “a film set where nothing happens,” and a visualization of the idea of “form as emptiness” or “emptiness as form.” The exhibition will be on view until May 31.
